Francisco Brennand (1927–2019) was a Brazilian sculptor, painter, and ceramic artist renowned for his surreal and organic ceramic creations. Born in Recife, he transformed an old tile and brick factory into the iconic Oficina Brennand. This large artistic complex showcases his distinctive sculptures inspired by mythology, nature, and the human form. His work combines modernist and pre-Columbian influences, often delving into themes of fertility, sexuality, and mysticism. Brennand emerged as one of Brazil’s most unique artists, leaving a profound cultural legacy in Pernambuco.
