There were no chain stores, just local artisans and proud traditions. A young girl’s smile, intricate recycled art, and the legendary Hotel California all added to the town’s charm. As we returned to Serenade of the Seas, the contrast was striking—modern luxury against a timeless reality. Which world was the escape, and which was home?
